Followinghis medical studies, Guido Forni performed postdoctoral work in the Departmentof Microbiology, Univ of Turin, Italy and became an Assistant Professor.From 1974 ro 1977 he was a Visiting Scientist in the Laboratory of Immunology,National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, NIH, Bethesda, MDdirected by Dr. W.E.Paul. With a Yamagiwa- Yoshida International Study grant, IUCC in1980 he worked at the Tumour Immunology Unit, UniversityCollege, London (1980)directed by Dr. A. Mitchison. He became a full Professor of Immunology, Univ ofTurin in 1986.
He served as the founder and director for the Center of Immunogenetics and Experimental Oncology (CNR-CIOS), Italian National Research Council from 1991-1996.From 2002 to 2005 he servedas the Scientific Director, Center for Experimental Research and Medical Studies (CeRMS), University of Turin and Ospedale Molinette Joint Venture,Turin. and was responsible of two major core grants of 3 million € each from Compagnia di San Paolo. From 2007 he serves as the Italian Member of the WHO International Agency forResearch on Cancer Scientific Council, Lyon, France
